Insoluble Days

Insoluble Days

Another insoluble day
Slowly traverses to its expiration
Entangles me towards sleep

But before the thoughts
Of the day are turned out
They tug together the image of you

As you come into mind
My loneliness begins to spread
Out into this muggy summers night

Even back then
When we were younger
Looking at you I had an unerring premonition

Of this evening
Its loneliness
Its irrevocable destination

Now in this distant and remote landscape without you
Spurned from those days, the discovery
That even your absence remains my compass
