reflection’s pause

by mistersoto

in reflection’s pause
a child in it’s smallness
time held in vast frame
with himself enveloped
the sound of dripping water
of crockery returned to the draw
voices, human voices
later perhaps one of a dog
memories muffled
disappearing before the page
of adulthood was turned
caressed by fingers
etching it’s emptiness with ink
to it’s surface
his abbreviated memories
his unpunctuated dream
